Fountains Abbey, Ripon
A day out to this World Heritage Site will NOT disappoint – even in the rain. If you visit, you will appreciate why.
Bronte Parsonage, Haworth

The best days out here are to the Bradford area – about an hour and fifteen minutes away.
Salt Mills, Hockney Gallery, and the World Heritage Site of the Saltaire Village.
York’s Museums
There are many to visit in York including the Castle Museum, the Yorkshire Museum, Mansion House, Barley Hall, the JORVIK Viking Centre and the City Art Gallery. Just one hour’s drive from us, it makes for a wonderful day out.
Around Wakefield
We love the Wakefield area for the Hepworth Art Gallery, the Henry Moore Institute and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. This is a long day out, so allow time.
Cinemas
The Station Cinema, Richmond
We love this small cinema with excellent bar and cafe. We always find a great atmosphere here. Its exhibitions are fascinating and it’s at the start of a super walk along the river Swale towards Easby Abbey. It’s 9 miles from us.
The Empire, Catterick Garrison
Fancy catching the latest blockbuster? Catterick is a large military garrison now has the multi-screen Empire Cinema. There are also some restaurants (basic chain food) and close by you will find a large Tesco open 24 hours a day. Aldi and Lidl are close by.
